About Me

Not a typical path.

I started in music business — that was the plan. Then I did the Disney College Program, picked up Python on the side with no real goal, and something clicked. I kept going.

After Disney I worked reservation sales at Club Med while teaching myself more. Eventually I committed fully and went to DevMountain bootcamp (Nov 2020 – March 2021).

Right after graduating I got hired back as a Subject-Matter Expert at DevMountain — via interview and code challenges, not a freebie. I staffed the help queue live (React, JS, debugging students' broken code in real time), then built and ran my own lessons, and had input on curriculum. As dev hiring slowed and cohorts shrank I went part-time, and was let go in August 2024.

During that time I also did freelance work for Barngrover LLC: built MyVCF plus another project that got shelved (client was unfocused — that's real-world dev too). I was also brought in to debug and patch a Next.js mental health chat app for a separate client.

Then a Revature Java apprenticeship (Nov 2024 – March 2025): finished training, passed the assessment, signed employment forms — but never got a client placement. Low demand and most clients required a bachelor's.

Now it's May 2026. I'm building real projects, deploying them, and looking for the right team. This is the pivot point.

What I care about

  • Shipping real things, not just tutorials
  • Honest, readable code over clever code
  • Debugging as a skill, not a sign of failure
